Both Gator Girl's and Boy's track teams closed out the regular season this past week at the two day Jeffco League Meet. Nine athletes came away with all conference honors. In addition, several athletes used this last meet as a chance to qualify for the CHSAA State Track Meet to be held May 19th- 21st.
The Boys 4X200 relay of Darren Hay '18, Tyler Williams '19, Ty Webber '18 and Wyatt Nightingale '16 took first place, earning 1st Team All Conference Honors with a time of 1:33.00. Ranked 25th in the State, they just missed out on one of the top 18 spots to go to the State Meet.

Garrett Martin '18 also earned 1st Team All Conference Honors, winning the High Jump with a Personal Record (PR) 6-5ft jump. This ranks him 4th in the State this season and earned him an entry to the State Meet.

For both Williams (400M, 49.65) and the Girls 4X800 (Anna Nelson '17, Veronica Petrillo '18, Emma Abernethy '17, Savannah Martin '18, 9:51.56), placing 3rd at the League Meet (All Conference Honorable Mention) translated into 8th best times in the State. All five will be running at the State Meet. After scratches, Williams will be the 4th seed in his event. The girls will retain their 8th seed. The 4X800 relay also broke the school record set last year by Abernethy, Nelson, Martin and Casey Torbet '15.

Other events where the Gator Girls scored points were: Martin (4th Discus), Nelson (4th 800, 8th 3200), Lina Vogler '18 (4th Triple Jump), Rachel Cody '18 (6th tie Pole Vault), Jackie Paik '16 (6thT PV), 4X100 (6th), 4X200 (6th), 4X400 (7th) and the 800 Medley relay (7th). The Girls finished in 8th with 49 points
On the Boys Side, additional place winners were: Williams (5th 200M), Nightingale (5th 100M, 7th 200M), Webber (6th 100M, 9th 200M), Hay (5th 400M), Trevor Smith '18 (7th 1600, 9th 3200), Carter Bearup '18 (4th HJ), Jack Anderson '17 (8th HJ), Noah Hendrix '19 (8thT PV), Kelvin Chen '18 (8thT PV), the 4X400 (5th), 4X800 (6th) and 4X100 (7th). The boys team finished 5th with 75.5 points.
As noted above, six of the Gators will be continuing their season at the State Track Meet. Williams (11:23am) and the Girls 4X800 (12:05pm) will run Thursday, May 19th. If Williams advances to finals, he will run again Saturday (21st) at 11:53am. Martin will high jump Friday, the 20th at 1:30pm. The State Track Meet will be held at the Jeffco Stadium at 6th and Kipling. Single Day Admission is $10 ($7 for students). Activity passes cannot be used for this event.
